An orchard is an intoxicating place
where God hangs out all day
just to watch the peaches
giggle with delight
as the sun tickles them.
The Earth is drunk on
the rain’s sweet nectar
and has a hard time
spinning straight. . .
challenging the limbs and leaves
as they practice their new dance
with the wind.
God loves hanging out
in the orchard all day
watching Summer’s wonderful recital.
