The Grand Tapestry

Standard
The perching bird gives no thought
to the mechanics of flight
nor inspection of feather or feet.
It sings without concern of being judged
or fear of intruding on its neighbors.
It does not know itself as separate
from the grand tapestry
constantly being rewoven
as each thread moves and breathes.
The bird’s wing and song fly
through creation as creation itself.
Particle and whole are the same.
Remembering this perfection
present in all things
great and small
inspires my soul to take flight.
